The first topic I will discuss is the items you need to create a Halloween wreath. To create a Halloween wreath to hang on your front door you need just a few simple items. Most of the items you can use from your own house and do not have to be purchased at a store. Some of the items are a wreath which can be a wreath made of vines, sticks, wood, paper, or brought from a store. The next item is a ribbon usually people tie ribbons around there wraths to add a nice effect and make it stand out. The next item in making a wreath is paint usually people use different colored spray paints for nice looking effects. You can color your wreath with any color paint you like to match your Halloween décor. The next item is lights some people like to add lights to their wreath for nice effects which makes it stand out more. The next item is different Halloween items such as spider webs, creatures, ghosts, and other similar items. The next item you will need is glue to put all your items together. The final item you will need to make sure you have is a hanger for the door you can use a nail if you don't have a door hanger. These are the items you will use to make your Halloween wreath.
The next topic I will discuss is how to make the Halloween wreath. When you finally get the entire Halloween wreath items the next step is putting them all together. The first thing you want to do is create your wreath. If you buy a wreath from a store then there is no work needed because it is already done. If you would like to have the fun of creating it though then you can use sticks, vines, paper, and or wood. What you would do is take the sticks and put them together forming a big circle. You would just twist, wrap, tie and put all the wood pieces together until you have a big circle made of wood.
After you have made a decent very well rounded looking wreath you will give it a color. This is where the paint comes in you will now spray paint your wreath in any color you would like. The most popular color for a wreath is black since its Halloween and blacks a popular Halloween color. Other colors that are good for Halloween are orange, orange and black, dark brown - which most sticks already are, and any other dark colors. As with anything that uses paint always wait until the paint dries before you go on to the next step. If you do not wait you will have paint all over your hands, clothes, and other important items.
The next step is adding some lights for a very cool effect on your wreath. Just as with a Christmas tree adding a wreath will create a nice effect and let your wreath shine bright so everyone can see. You will want to add your lights first before any decorations so that your light doesn't cover the decorations and cause problems. Lights that should be used should have a Halloween theme so colors like black, orange, brown, yellow, fall colors, leaves color, and any other similar colors. These colors will make your wreath stand out for all the trick or treaters to be amazed at when they come to your house. You will have to make sure you use battery operated lights or if you're going to plug them in use an extension cord. You will wrap the lights all the way around your wreath so that the whole thing lights up.
The next step is to add Halloween decorations to your wreath. This is probably the most fun part of making a Halloween wreath. You can use your imagination and go crazy with this step because there is so much you can do. Since its Halloween a cool effect would be to add spider webs all over the wreath and put spiders around the web. You can also add just one big spider anywhere on the wreath also instead of many small ones. This is also where you would use the glue you need the glue to add your Halloween items to the wreath. Some other items you can add are jack-o-lanterns, skulls, bats, witches, ghosts, scary looking monsters, haunted houses, and so on. When you're done adding your items the last thing to add would be a ribbon. The ribbon should be a dark colored or Halloween colored ribbon that goes along with your wreath. Any scary items you can think of you should add them to make your wreath stand out as one of the best.
The final step is to hang your wreath outside your door. When you're finally done gluing your items to your wreath you can hang it outside. All you have to do is to put a hanger on the door outside or knock a nail into the door. Make sure it's long enough so that the wreath doesn't fall down and break up. When your wreath is all done and hanging your Halloween guests will get a nice treat for their eyes.
Halloween decorations are one of the best things about Halloween. Making Halloween decorations is something you and your family can do together and is lots of fun. For more information on how to make a Halloween wreath ask your local craft or Halloween store. Enjoy your new Halloween wreath and have a safe holiday.
