How to Make a Hand-Soak Treatment with Eggs, Olive Oil, Lemon Juice

Our hands and fingernails advertise our age and health to the world. However, our hands and fingernails often take more abuse than the rest of our bodies and receive less care.

We often focus on our faces and omit hand and fingernail care from our beauty routines. After all commercial cosmetics are often expensive and contain harsh chemicals so it is natural to skimp in an area that we think does not receive much attention.

I formulated the following hand and nail soak treatment recipe to moisturize my dry skin and strengthen my fingernails. The hand and fingernail soak treatment recipe calls for inexpensive and natural ingredients. The hand and fingernail soak treatment recipe is also very easy to prepare.

You will need the following containers and utensils to prepare the hand and fingernail soak treatment recipe: medium size mixing bowl; wire whisk or large fork; measuring cup; small saucepan; large bowl to soak your hands in. Optional item: pair of soft gloves that you do not mind getting messy.

You will also need these ingredients to prepare the hand and fingernail soak treatment recipe: 2 cups of olive oil OR 2 cups of soybean oil; three large eggs; one small lemon

Begin preparing the hand and fingernail soak treatment recipe by cracking the three large eggs into the medium sized mix. Beat the eggs with the wire whisk for about a minute until they are well blended.

Eggs are a rich source of nourishing vitamins such as A, D, and E. Eggs are also an excellent source of anti-oxidants, protein and fat. Eggs' presence in the hand and fingernail soak treatment will leave your hands and fingernails soft, smooth and healthy looking.

After beating the eggs add the 2 cups of olive oil to the hand and fingernail soak treatment blend and stir until the blend is well mixed. Olive oil is very nourishing for skin. It is a rich source of the anti-oxidant vitamin E and skin nourishing fats.

Olive oil's presence in the hand and fingernail soak treatment blend will leave your hands and fingernails looking more healthy, youthful and glowing. Olive oil's presence in the hand and fingernail soak treatment blend will also make your skin stronger.

If you do not have any olive oil on hand or just really, dislike the scent of olive oil you can substitute with Soybean oil. Soybean oil is less expensive but is greasier and will be less effective than olive oil in the hand and fingernail soak treatment blend.

Once you have mixed the eggs and olive oil slice a small lemon into easily squeezable piece much like the kind used for adding lemon juice to drinks. It is best to use small lemons for this purpose as they often contain more juice than large lemons. Squeeze the lemon slices until all of their juice goes into the mixing bowl.

Lemons are naturally astringent and a rich source of Vitamin C. The presence of lemon juice in the hand and fingernail soak treatment will tone and tighten the skin on your hands. Lemon juice also has a mild whitening effect; it will bleach stains from your fingernails as well as speed cell regeneration. After adding the lemon juice to the hand and fingernail soak treatment blend, stir the blend for about a minute until it is well blended.

When you have completed preparing the recipe, pour the hand and fingernail soak treatment into a small saucepan and heat the blend on low heat until it is warm. Do not overheat the blend; do not make it any warmer than you can stand to place your hands in. Using the blend while warm will help open the pores on your hands helping the hand and fingernail soak treatment to penetrate more deeply.

After warming the treatment pour it into the large bowl and immediately sit down, relax and place your hands in the hand and fingernail soak treatment. Submerge as much of your hands as you can in the treatment. For best results soak your hands and fingernails for at least 20 minutes then wash your hands with a mild soap and warm water.

If you wish, you can take an added step and use the hand and fingernail soak treatment before bed. Instead of washing the treatment off after soaking put on a pair of soft gloves and then go to sleep and wash the treatment off in the morning.
