How to Harness Natures Ultimate Source of Energy by Using Solar Panels

Sun and the Solar Energy

Ron Legarski
We are on the verge of an energy crisis and solar panels may be the answer. Scientists around the planet have been doing an extensive research for several potential sources of energies. One of these potential sources is the solar energy from the sun. The energy is there, we just need to develop something that will increase its power generation efficiently leaving extra cost in the power generation. We could also save a lot power by some common renewable sources of energy such as water by hydro electric power plants. Forces like tidal wave energy, by trapping nature's tidal forces to generate power. Wind Mills, creates an everlasting source of electric power through its turbine powered by wind. Geothermal energy is tapped underneath to gather heat and power boilers to create mechanical energy and others.

The solar energy is another source of power that will enable us to create an atmosphere free from sickness and other health hazards. To make most of these sources, solar panels are installed to tap the leading source of energy, the sun. The sun is one of the best sources of energy, as scientists are now trying to emulate the sun's energy through atomic fusion. Although solar cells have not gone this way, it is still a very cheap way to harness suns energy compared to be others.

In a place where there is an abundant source of sun. Solar energy has been already installed and has benefited some people around the world with this technology. Like space crafts, the solar panels that are installed here on earth have also a tracking apparatus that serves to follow the sun all day long.

The material used in these panels is fragile, but when it is used in a proper way, there is no excuse that this is a very useful material in the planet. Durability based on the lifespan of the material is so far efficient; these are because the solar cells will not be easily be degraded by radiation. It will take a very long time to lose its capacity in converting the sun's energy into electricity.

Structures today that require an eco-friendly design are using these solar panels to generate power for their lighting systems. These are usually installed on the rooftops or on the side of the building where the sun rises and sets during a day. Also, the technology is evolving and has become more efficient by adding a Fresnel lens on the material.

The lens is said to increase and redirect the solar energy to a point where the sun's light is concentrated. Fresnel lenses are effectively installed in solar cells.

Solar panels with Fresnel lenses have increased their energy output to some significant percentage. This increases the energy conversion and will probably create more electricity. This is also administered to some solar devices but is commonly found on space crafts.

Though it is effective, it was somehow expensive. Hopefully, its price may lower in the future. As we will be decreasing our carbon emissions with solar powered cars, machines, houses and buildings.
