How to Heal Your Mind, Body and Spirit

Bringing Balance to Your Spiritual Centers (Chakras)

Kimberly Ware
Our spiritual center is the flow of energy that is connected to our life force. The spiritual centers are connected to our souls. Your aura is the energy that flows around your body and changes colors according to how you feel and what you are experiencing in your life. Many spiritual experts believe that energy flows through chakras, which are your spiritual centers.

There are seven chakra points in your body. Your chakra releases energy into your aura. The seven chakras work together, and it is important to keep them well balanced. When your chakras are balanced, you are well balanced spiritually, mentally, and physically. Balance brings clarity and enables you to find purpose.

The Seven Chakras:

The first chakra is red in color. It is located at the base of the spine. This chakra controls the consciousness of survival. It is also known as the "base chakra."

The second chakra is orange in color. It is located next to the spleen. The second chakra is between the first chakra and your navel. This chakra controls the consciousness of emotion and pleasure. It is also called the "emotional chakra."

Another chakra is the third chakra which is yellow in color. It is located above the navel. This chakra is over the consciousness of will power, creativity, and decisions.

The fourth chakra is green in color. It is known as the "heart chakra." This chakra is located at the heart. The fourth chakra is the center of love; it is higher than the plane of emotions. Love brings calmness and balance.
Next is the fifth chakra which is blue. It is called your "throat chakra" because it is located at your throat. This chakra controls the consciousness of psychic hearing, and it is sometimes called the "radio."

The sixth chakra is indigo/violet. It is also called the "third eye." This chakra is located between your eyes. The sixth chakra gives a person the ability to see clairvoyantly (to see people and events in the future before they occur). A person with a strong sixth sense has the ability to see beyond the physical, such as auras, chakras, and spiritual guides.

Last but not least is the seventh chakra which is violet/white. It is also your "spiritual door." It is located at the top of your head. The seventh chakra is also known as the "crown chakra." It controls the consciousness of spiritual awakening, enlightenment, knowledge, and wisdom. This chakra takes years to develop. You can develop your seventh chakra by learning, through prayer and meditation, and through training by a spiritual expert/teacher.

The unbalance of the chakras can occur when we allow our egos to take over. For example, when you are nervous about taking a test, you will feel butterflies in the pit of your stomach. Another example is, when you are scared, you will feel a shiver go down your spine. These examples are natural occurrences, and both of them show how chakras in your body can affect how you feel physically, as well as how you release your energy into the outside world through your aura, body language, posture, and action.

In order to find and pursue your purpose, you need to keep your spiritual centers of consciousness balanced. You can balance your chakras through exercises that helps balance the mind, body, and spirit, such as yoga and Reiki; balancing your chakras is key to being healthy and prosperous in many aspects of your life.
