How I Healed a Painful Scalp Infection Without Medicine

The Pen
A few months ago, while combing my hair, I realized that whenever I reached the middle portion at the nape of my neck I always had to comb very gently, because if I didn't my scalp would hurt. There was an exaggerated pain there, it felt as if I was going to rip my hair out.

Then it dawned on me that even if I gently tugged on this area, it hurt. It always felt slightly weird and itchy whenever I shampooed my hair. I also noticed that this small tuft was very fine and fragile, it was easily damaged, unlike the rest of my hair.

I asked a friend to look at the scalp there to see if there was a sore, or redness or anything that looked unusual, but it looked completely normal.

I knew I wasn't crazy because there had been pain there for awhile. So I went on the Internet to search for answers and most of the information I found suggested that some of my symptoms could be related to diseases that could lead to hair loss.

That section of my hair had felt that way for years without falling out, so I wasn't too afraid of losing my hair, but I still thought I should find an answer, just in case. The only problem was that none of the Web sites had any great answers on solving the problem, so I decided to experiment on my own.

I knew that tea tree oil was great for helping to heal scalp diseases so I decided to use a bottle of WEN's Tea Tree Oil that I've owned for a while, it's blended with jojoba and other essential oils, so it isn't 100% pure tea tree, but I wanted to try it out anyway.

So every morning and night I made a couple of parts on the affected area. Then I vigorously (even though it really hurt) rubbed a couple of drops of the tea tree oil onto it for a minute or two.

As soon as the oil hit that part of my scalp it started to tingle and burn really intensely, it never felt that way on the healthier parts of my scalp, so I knew for sure that I had some sort of infection.

After the first two or three days of applying the oil, the nape of my neck began to feel incredibly itchy and sore, and even though the skin there looked normal, I would've sworn that it was raw - that's how sore it was. But I took the itching as a sign of healing so whenever the sensation became too annoying I'd just apply a few more drops of the oil, making sure to rub it in briskly to stimulate the scalp.

The itching and soreness was intense for the first week or so, and then it began to fade - but it still lasted for another week. After that the pain and itchiness went away and my scalp began to feel normal, but it was still sensitive whenever I tugged my hair.

So I continued to apply the oil twice a day for another four weeks. Within that time the infected area began to feel completely normal and healthy.
