1. Walk/Jog in place -The simplest of any healthy exercise is to just walk or jog in place. This burns calories, gets blood flowing and everyone can do it. This can be done anywhere, anytime. It makes for a great warm up or cool down before or after your workout.
2. Squats - Squats can also be done at home or work, (drawing minimal attention to you at work). Simply stand behind your chair (holding on to it, if needed) and squat, like you are sitting in a chair. You can even try sitting and standing from a chair. Squats are a wonderful form of healthy exercise for your legs and buttocks. Once these get easy for you, add some weights (water bottle, can of corn, keyboard).
3. Step exercise - Anything can be used for a step. Take a big book (or two), a bucket, tupperware container, or anything else a few inches tall and sturdy, and step up and down from it. This is another healthy exercise you can do in limited space and could even be on the phone while you do it.
4. Leg lifts - From sitting in your desk chair, or on your couch, you can do leg lifts. Extend one leg out and hold it there for a few seconds, then switch to the other leg. Try and get your time up to holding it for several minutes, or do several repitians of just a few seconds. You can buy ankle weights to add to this workout.
5. Desk push-ups - Find a counter-top that can support your weight, or you can do this against the wall. Put your hands shoulder width apart and walk your legs back. Bend your elbows and touch your nose to the desk/wall. Repeat this "push-up" as many times as you can and try to increase every few days.
6. Invisible exercises - You can do this healthy exercise without even getting up by just tightening muscles. Tighten and release your buttocks, calves, abs, or any other muscle you want to tone. This can be done during a boring meeting, watching TV or while reading a book.
If you want to make the commitment to a healthy body, you can find the time to do your healthy exercise anywhere, anytime. Maybe you can even get your co-workers and/or family to join you!
