Some things to consider when making your stuffing for your turkey, is to try and stay away from butters and oils and instead focus on using spices and vegetables to enhance the taste of your dressing. Also avoid putting fatty sausages in dressing mixture. When trying to cut calories in preparing your healthy Thanksgiving dinner, pay close attention to your potato dishes.

Sweet potatoes do not have to be loaded with calories to be tasty. Simply bake your sweet potatoes and serve them in the skins, slice them in sections and add a small amount of nonfat butter and maybe a little brown sugar. If you choose to serve a potato salad, make sure that you use a low-fat or nonfat mayonnaise.

Serving special desserts and cutting calories doesn't seem to go together does it? Well, it can be accomplished with some creative thought. Make sure if serving whipped cream on your pies it is the nonfat brand. Make sure when making your pies you use as many nonfat, low-fat products as possible while still keeping a pleasant taste. The healthy Thanksgiving dinner turkey, oh yes, we can't forget that! The turkey at our Thanksgiving dinner is what we all sit patiently and wait for. Here are some things you can do when preparing your Thanksgiving dinner turkey. First, remove all of the skin from the turkey. Do not use regular fattening butter and oils to baste and prepare your turkey but instead use nonfat butter and spices. Also, lean towards preparing a nonfat gravy mixture to put over your turkey. You can do this by using low-fat or skim milk, broths and spices to create a wonderful gravy.
