How to Get to the Heart of the Matter

The Heart of the Matter

Kurt Evans
Living life, is all about finding out how to get to the heart of the matter. When you find out your true feelings; you find out who you really are.

Superficial

We all put on a superficial mask and act like the person that we want other people to think we are. Some people rarely act out what is really in their heart out of fear of what other people might think of them.

Expectations

Some of us like to hide out in the back of the room because we don't want to let other people know what we can really do. Why, you ask, because if we let people know what we can really do, it raises expectations of us.

Unrealistic Fear Or Expectation

I have this idea in my head that if I let people know what I can really do, everybody's going to want to hang out with me and this won't allow me to get any work done. This may be an unrealistic fear or expectation and, it is what it is.

To The Heart Of The Matter

When we get to the heart of the matter, we are dealing with the truth. The truth can be whatever you want it to be and, you have to believe it with conviction. Even, if you believe something with all your heart, does that make it the truth?

Preconceived Notions

We all have preconceived notions about things, and think that we know the truth. Human beings never want to admit that they're wrong. It's part of the human condition and the ego. How big is your ego?

Mistakes

If you admit to your mistakes and you admit that you're wrong, then that means that you're not the big hotshot that you thought you were. You're worried about what all of your friends are going to think of you now.

None Of My Business

I know that it's none of my business what you think of me. I cannot control your thoughts, I can only be the best person I can be, and that's it.
