Take them to the victims center for male abuse survivors
Many places have people that are there for male abuse survivors to help them. They usually assist them in obtaining therapy and possible group therapy in order to help them with the issue. The therapy often provided by the Center is free to the victim. Most places have funding from federal and state in order to help individuals at low cost or free. Group therapy might help them not feel so alone in the situation.
Report the abuse incident to the police
Encourage the person to file a report in order to catch the abuser. Explain to them that the report that they file regarding the incident may help them save another person's life one of these days. Inform them that most abusers often have several other victims in the past that they caused severe trauma.
Explain that the police will take the report seriously. Tell them that society is starting to realize that there is a problem in the world of men being abused by men or women. The center usually strongly recommends that the incident that happened to the male abuse survivor be reported to the police. Many individuals refuse to report most of these incidents due to them feel embarrassed or they know the abuser. People often feel that filing a report with the police will often result in another attack happening to them.
Tell him about the other cases of the same type of incident
The individual will realize that he is not alone. He will realize that this type of thing happens to other males too. You want them to realize that this happens to people all over the world. You want to get the message across to him that it isn't his fault no matter what he may have said or done. Tell him that people will not laugh at him. Tell them that people may understand what he went through regarding the situation.
