How YOU Can Help with the Missing & Unidentified NOW

NamUs | UDRS Outreach

Todd Matthews
The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs) went online with the Unidentified Decedent Reporting System (UDRS) mid 2007. Since then extensive efforts have been made to get all onboard.

It is possible now to generate county links to the UID's on the NamUs | UDRS database. (http://blogs.discovery.com/sleuth_truth/2008/06/namus----nation.html)

Simple as going to the NamUs UDRS website help area -

https://identifyus.org/?p=help

By selecting the desired state and county from the drop down lists, and the code is generated immediately. A direct link to local cases is created, ready to copy and paste onto any web-site

This will be an ideal thing for local newspapers to add to their links page to give their readers direct links to local cases listed on UDRS. In essence a local portal to the national system.

Another goal is for county governments, law enforcement & non profits to add the local level portal to their homepages.

Can you get your local entities to add the proper UDRS generated link to their local homepage?

We are gearing up for the official launch of the missing persons side of NamUs -- the more links created now -- the better the chance to have some resolution for the missing & unidentified at a much faster pace.

A similar code specific to the missing is planned as well. Please forward this information to everyone you think can help spead the word and literally open as many doors as possible to this vital system.

Todd's calling to be a voice for missing and unidentified persons began when he solved the identity of the "Tent Girl" case, Barbara Hackman-Taylor, after a ten-year journey that ended in 1998.  View profile
