How to Help the Ridgway Food Pantry

Sandy James

Food pantries across the country have fallen on hard times when they need donations most. Many food pantries have closed due to lack of funding and donations, but the Ridgway Food Pantry is now accepting monetary and food donations to help the community.

As families struggle to make ends meet, many will not be able to purchase toys for their children and put a holiday meal on the table. The Ridgway Food Pantry wants to help with that by giving food items to families that need it most.

Items that are most needed are non-perishable items. Items such as canned fruits, vegetables, boxed foods, and juices are all welcome. Canned soups, rice mixes, beans, and bags of sugar or flour are all good choices. Monetary donations are also welcome and you can send your check to:

I'm sure your suggestions apply to most food pantries.

The cupboards are bare in our food pantry, too. The PBA had to step up to fill 6 food baskets for Thanksgiving this year. So many are going without. cheers for the info

Sadly, food banks nationwide are seeing an increase in families needing assistance. I pray Ridgeway receives tons of food as a result of your efforts.

Nice work. We've gotten to know most of our neighbors in a five mile radious and there are several that are in hard times. We invite the loners to our home on holidays for dinner and we try to donate food to the unfortunate families. We're in a fairly remote area out here and we all look out for eachother.

I hope that they get many donations. There's not a better time to help each other than these times.
