How You Can Help Save the Planet

Saving the planet takes more than one person...it actually takes an entire community and network of people. But don't be overwhelmed; every individual person's contribution makes a huge difference in our environment. There are several simple things that you can do to help save the planet. This article will focus on ways you can make a difference in keeping earth a safe place to stay.

Curbside Recycling: This is a very simple and easy way for you to contribute to helping the environment. By simply separating your recyclables from your daily trash you can have a huge impact on the landfills across the world. If your local trash company picks up recyclables, you might consider gathering a couple crates or containers to place objects that are aluminum, glass, plastic, tin, paper inside. You will be surprised at how you are collecting less trash and how much you are making a difference.

Diaper Service: Diapers, diapers and more diapers pile up each year, considering the fact babies are born everyday. The pile never seems to end let alone biodegrade. If you don't use biodegradable diapers or you haven't heard of them, this might be a great alternative to regular Huggies and store brand diapers. However, if you are not willing to put any diapers into a landfill, biodegradable or not, then you have to consider getting a diaper service. Diaper services cost much less than disposables, usually about half. You can clean the soiled diapers or have the service come and pick them up for you. This is a great way for disposables to stay out of the landfills and a wonderful way for you to save the planet.

Community Garage Sale: Getting the community to get together to have an all out garage sale bash is a great way to recycle good reusable items and keep them from going to the local dump, where they are bound to stay for many centuries to come. It is a great idea to post flyers, get the neighbors geared up, and let the selling began. You will be surprised at how one mans trash can be another's treasure, and how much cleaner your home and the environment will be once everything is sold.

Read Labels: Reading the labels on what you are purchasing can help the environment in many ways. Don't be afraid if you are unaware of a certain ingredient to call the 1-800 number on the back of a product to find out if it is toxic to the environment or not. Don't be afraid to ask if the product is recyclable or reusable and if it will harm the Earth in anyway. Start using products that are environmentally friendly and change the way you dispose of toxic chemicals or products.

Bike riding: Invest your time and money into a simple bicycle. Instead of driving a car a few blocks away from your home, take the bike out of the garage and ride away. Not only can bike riding give you great exercise, it keeps pollutants out of the air. Humans as well as animals are breathing in the black film that is in the air in the middle of rush hour traffic. Bicycling can eliminate some of that black film and make the air safer for everyone to breathe.

Donate to Save the Rainforest: Regardless of if we live near a rainforest or not, it is very essential to our planet. That is why it is so important for people that have the means to share and help save the rainforest. Donating a dollar or one hundred dollars can make a huge difference. Together we can make a change, so won't you give a little of yours.

Teach and Share with others: Teaching a small child how to recycle or the importance of breathing clean air can make a huge difference in the future of our planet. Share what you know and keep the cycle of life going. Don't be afraid to learn new ways to save the planet and share them with others.

Obtain Knowledge: Read, learn and understand what is going on with the environment. Taking a little time out of your day to check to see what organizations are helping improve the planet, or what potential dangers are harming the Earth, can be very beneficial for you. Search for knowledge wherever you can find it and never give up on your chance to make a change.

I hope that God-Willing this brief article on what you can do to save the planet will be of some help to you.
