What can I do to hide the short hairs while wearing my extensions? I have two simple tricks for you that are extremely easy, and so effective. Don't worry, you don't have to cut your hair shorter.
The 3 Ponytail Trick
I know to some this sounds quite funny, but if done right the results will be beautiful.
You will need a rattail comb, claw clip, bobby pins, three coated hair bands, and of course your hair extensions.
Section your hair at the bottom of nape. Just a thin section of hair will be sufficient enough. Pull up the remaining hair, and place into a hair elastic to create pony.
Now section the nape area in half. Make one ponytail on right, and one on the left. Using your fingers twist each one around your finger turn and lay flat against head. Take one bobby pin and secure hair. Now take another one and criss cross it. Repeat this on other side.
Grab your first hair extension, and clip it over the two ponytails. Make sure to secure all the clips by pressing down on the head. Then either place the next extension followed by the third one. Or pull a thin section of hair down then extension.
Flat Twisted Bun Trick
Section the hair at the nape of the neck. Clip up the rest of hair.
Now grab that first section and twist it until you reach the end. Make sure you stay close to the head, and don't pull the hair straight up. Wrap the ends around if needed, and now it's like you have a extra tiny bun, or flat twist on your neck.
Go ahead and place your first extension 1-2 inches above that small bun. Then continue until all hair pieces are put in place. Blend the rest of the hair in, spray lightly if needed, and apply a small dime amount of hair serum to keep the extensions moistened.
Remember when choosing your extensions that they match your color, desired thickness, and length. It's ok to use highlighted ones or multi colored ones as long as you have your original color thrown into the mix as well.
