How to Hide an Unsightly Pimple

TommiH
I do not know of anyone who likes pimples. They are gross, painful, and an all around pest. But they do happen. While you can do whatever you want to try to prevent them from coming, such as buying all those expensive soaps, you always seem to get one here and there. So I am going to teach you how to cover your unsightly pimple so it is less noticeable to those around you.

Whether you are going out to the mall, going on a date with that cute guy, having your picture taken, or just going to school, you will want to keep this article handy so you know what to do if it happens again. With the following technique, your pimple will be covered in a matter of minutes and less noticeable. Ready? Good, here we go.

Step 1: Before you start anything, make sure your face is clean and makeup free. Wash your face down with a mild soap to eliminate any dirt and/or extra oils that can cause more pore blockage. Now take an oil-free moisturizer and moisturize your entire face and neck (this includes your pimple). Allow the moisturizer a couple minutes to dry and "soak in" your skin.

Step 2: Take a wash cloth and dip a corner of the wash cloth into some warm water. Do not make the water hot because this will only cause problems in the future with irritation and redness. Place the warm tip on your pimple and hold it there for about 2 minutes. This will help dry up the oils around the infected area and help get rid of the pimple sooner rather than feeding the pimple more oils and dirt.

Step 3: Now that you have completed step 2, it is time to bring the swelling down to level. Take an ice cube and place it in a clean wash cloth. Hold the wash cloth to your pimple but keep the ice covered with the wash cloth so it is not touching your skin directly with the ice cube. This will help the inflammation (just as it would help keep the swelling down on an area that has just been injured); all the same principle.

Step 4: Now use a concealer that is one shade lighter than your skin tone. Lightly and gently tab the concealer on top of the pimple until it is completely covered. Do not cake the concealer on, as this would look very unnatural and very unappealing.

Step 5: Now use a foundation that matches your skin tone exactly. You may have to touch of the pimple area a little after you have applied the foundation because it tends to make some concealer wipe off. You can do this by adding a touch of concealer to the area again.

You can feel free to continue on with your makeup routine now! But just remember, now that you have foundation on any extra face makeup can make your face look cakey so take it easy.
