Before you hire a janitorial service you will want to consider your budget as well as the cleaning services you would like to have done, and the frequency with which you need the service to visit your home or business. When considering your budget, remember that although you will have to pay a janitorial service, it will save you lots of valuable time and energy that you could put elsewhere.
Your first step is to compile a list of potential janitorial and cleaning services for you to consider. You can ask family, neighbors, friends and business colleagues for recommendations. You can also check the local yellow pages of your phone book as well as doing internet searches. Look for janitorial and cleaning services that are a good match in terms of what types of services you are looking for.
You will need to investigate the background of any janitorial service you are seriously considering. Ask the service for references and see if you can talk to some previous customers to see if they were satisfied with the janitorial services they received. You can also call the local branch of the Better Business Bureau to see if there have been any complaints filed against the janitorial service.
Another thing you should do before hiring a janitorial service, is to make sure they have the proper business license and carry an adequate amount of workers compensation and liability insurance. If the company is not adequate insured, you could end up being held legally responsible for any accidents or damage that occurred while the service was working on your property.
Once you have found several janitorial services that have met the above criteria, you can ask for written estimates. It's a good idea to compare at least three different companies in terms of written quotes and the services they offer. When making your final decision on which janitorial service to hire, do not just choose the company that offers the lowest price. Make sure you take all the factors into account such as their previous experience, feedback from references, their level of professionalism and your level of rapport and comfort level with the janitorial service.

Post a CommentGood points. If your building is sizable, I would ask for a tour of two buildings that the potential vendor currently cleans. Talk to the staff in the building and evaluate the contractors ability to keep customers happy and exceed cleaning specifications.
