How to Hire Someone to Create a Wedding Album

You've always dreamed of having a beautiful and elaborate wedding. You want everything to be perfect all the way from the flowers right down to the printed napkins. But once this day has come and gone, don't you want to be able to remember it through more than just memories and pictures? A wedding album helps recreate the moments. When looking through it, you immediately are drawn back to that day in your mind. With such a perfect wedding, you definitely want someone who can create the perfect wedding album to really encompass all the beauty and joy of the event.

Step 1

Decide on a budget. Think about how much you want to spend on the wedding album because that will help you eliminate some of the choices down the road. If you check around and nobody fits within your budget, you can always order one online. Ask friends for referrals. Ask your friends who recently got married who they used to create their wedding albums. They might be able to give you some good leads and can at least attest the quality of the work. They can also give you an idea of what the going rate is for wedding albums in your geographical area. Even if your friends don't have any suggestions, they can at least ask their other married friends, and you can continue networking through friends of friends to get some names.

Check with the photographer. Usually photographers create wedding albums as an extra service. If your photographer offers the service and charges a reasonable price, it would be best to buy from him. That way, you can easily communicate what kinds of pictures you would like to be in the album beforehand, so he will know exactly which pictures to take in addition to the norm. If you don't use the photographer for your wedding album, you will have to give his contact information to whoever does, and if there is any miscommunication, you might know not know until the wedding is over, and it's too late to take any extra pictures. Not all photographers offer the service, but usually they can recommend somebody who does.

Check with printers and scrapbook shops. Look up local print and scrapbook shops in the yellow pages, and ask them if they create wedding albums. If not, they can recommend somebody who does. A scrapbook shop would probably have the best suggestions because a lot of their customers create scrapbooks as a business. You could also even contact the art department of a local college. You can speak with a photography professor and see if he can recommend any students who could do the job. This might allow you to get a lower price but still good work from a student who mainly just needs the experience for a portfolio.

All you have to do is find the page for your city (or the closest major city), find the events or services section, and read through the ads to see who offers what you need!
