Conditioners are used to replenish the oils and keep the hair shiny, supple and moisturized.
A study recently conducted stated that Americans spend more than one billion dollars annually on conditioners. It is a very big expense, and one may or may not get the desired result. Given below are recipes for some home made conditioners that are easy to make, natural and safe to use, even on a daily basis. They do not make a big dent on the pocket too.
There are two ground rules to be followed. If your hair is oily, do not apply conditioner to the scalp. If it is dry, one can do this. The second is that these conditioners can be stored in the fridge for about a week. Not more than that.
MAYONNAISE CONDITIONER
This is very popular and can be used daily. Just apply the mayonnaise on your hair, let it stay for a minute and then rinse it off.
There is an excellent treatment for the hair using mayonnaise, which can be done once a week.
Take some mayonnaise. Apply in hair. Wrap with plastic sheets. Soak a towel in warm water, wring it dry and wrap around the head. After ten minutes, repeat the process. Then rinse the mayonnaise off the hair
GIN CONDITIONER
This requires 2 tablespoons of Gin and two egg yolks. Beat the egg yolks till frothy, add gin and again beat it. The mixture becomes foamy. Apply to the hair. Wait for 5 minutes, and then rinse it off. Do not use hot water, the egg might stick to your hair. Use lukewarm water.
CHAMOMILE TEA CONDITIONER
Take four tea bags of chamomile tea or hand full of chamomile flower
Take two table spoon of Rita power, one table spoon of Aloe Vera Juice or glycerin and mix them well.
Let tea bags boil with water for 10 minutes
Mix all the above ingredient above to tea and make a fine paste
Apply it on your hair for 20 minutes
Wash your hair with warm water.
AVOCADO COCONUT CONDITIONER
Take one whole avocado and 1 cup coconut milk. Mash the avocado, add coconut milk. Stir until it resembles the store bought conditioners. Apply on your hair, leave for fifteen minutes and then rinse it out.
DRY HAIR CONDITIONER
Beat 2 egg yolks and approximately half cup olive oil together until creamy. Apply this to your hair, keep for half an hour and then rinse with cold water
CONDITIONER FOR SHINY HAIR
Take one table spoon of Castor oil in a bowl
One table spoon of glycerin one table spoon of cider vinegar
One table spoon of mild herbal shampoo a baby shampoo works well too
Apply it to the scalp and leave it for 20 minutes and rise well with warm water.
