1. For a Chamomile shampoo boil four bags of Chamomile tea in 1 1/2 cups of water for about ten minutes. Remove the tea bags from the hot water and add four tablespoons of soap flakes. Let this sit for a few minutes to allow the soap to soften up a bit. Add 1 1/2 tablespoons of glycerin (a sweet, transparent liquid that holds moisture. It can be bought at most health food stores or drug stores),and mix until well blended.
Pour the solution into a bottle and store in a cool, dark place when not being used. This shampoo is good for about one week, at that time the remaining solution should be poured out and fresh made. Other Herbal teas can be used as a substitute to using Chamomile if you prefer.
2. For a simple egg solution, separate the yoke from the white of a large egg. Mix the egg white until fluffy and add the egg yolk, three tablespoons of castle soap and if you would like a drop of fragrance oil of your choice.
Mix this solution together really well and apply half of it to hair wet with warm water. Rinse well then add the remaining solution to hair and message. Leave on hair for a few minutes and rinse with warm water.
3. Soap-wart makes for a great shampoo as it is similar to soap and gets foamy when messaged into hair. This shampoo can be used on any hair type. Boil two cups of water and add 1 1/2 tablespoons of soap-wart. Allow to simmer covered for twenty minutes.
Remove mixture from heat and add a drop of fragrance oil if you would like, or to promote healthy hair add two teaspoons of cat nip. Allow solution to cool then strain solution making sure to save all the liquid. Finally pour into a bottle, it will thicken up a little as it sits, and use within ten days. Be sure to store in a cool, dark place.
4. An easy natural shampoo consists of mixing one teaspoon apple cider vinegar with one egg, one tablespoon lemon juice and one ounce of Olive oil in a blender. Blend ingredients until well mixed. Pour into a bottle and use as you would any other shampoo. Pour out any left over solution.
5. A simple shampoo for dry hair is made by mixing one teaspoon glycerin, 1/4 cup castile soap, 1/4 teaspoon avocado oil and 1/4 cup aloe vera gel. Once mixed thoroughly, pour solution into a bottle.
Always shake the bottle of shampoo well before using. Apply shampoo to wet hair and let sit one of two minutes, then rinse well with cool or luke warm water.
