How to Host a Dinosaur-Themed Party

Most every little boy at one time in their childhood enjoys dinosaurs. They have play dinosaurs and books about dinosaurs and even pajamas with dinosaurs on them. So what about the birthday wish to have a dinosaur party? It's all up to you to pull it off and make it memorable for the tot. Here are a few things you'll need to purchase and gather up to get you started.

Supplies:

Large plastic Easter eggs (30 or more)
Dark brown and dark green and dark blue crate paper( at least 15 to 20 rolls)
Bags of M&M's with nuts ( at least 3 bags)
Several packs of construction paper
Numerous sized boxes
Dark brown or blue paper plates, cups and napkins and silver wear
Blank cassette for recording later( need stereo or radio to record)
Assorted stuffed dinosaurs for later decorations and centerpieces
Scotch tape, thumb tacks or yarn and string
Assorted markers in many colors

Now that you have gathered all of supplies let's get started with the invitation's. Some people like to be creative and make their own so if that's you then great. Use your imagination and use construction paper and either markers or stickers to decorate invitation. Be unique with detailing and let the birthday kid decorate and color in.

It's time for the decorations. Use crated paper to dangle and hang from the ceiling as long vines. I would twist the dark green with browns and hand them from ceiling with tape or tacks. You can also elect to cut out large rocks with the boxes and use the construction paper to cover it up to make it look like a large rock.

If you want to go way out there then why not make a large cave out of a huge box structure and paper mac he it. Then you can paint it dark brown and place it in the corner of a room or the yard if you are holding it outdoors.

If you decided to build a cave then use green construction paper and cut into large strips and staple or tape to rock cave for grass. Hide the big large Easter eggs that you bought around and inside the cave for the kid's to later find.

Now for some back ground music you might want to check into finding at the library any music with roars or dinosaur noises if not let your family help you to make one. You could make noises as if a dinosaur is stomping through the forest and biting leaves. Play this tape while the party is going on.

Party Food:

You can serve either cupcakes with green coconut for the grass and place a small or cluster of M&M's on top for dinosaur eggs. Serve green punch and make a large mouth of a dinosaur with wicked sharp teeth out of a box and construction paper to store the kid's goody bags in. If you can locate a cookie cutter of a dinosaur then cut out sandwiches as well.

The main thing is to have fun and allow the kids to use their imagination and run wild into the cave. You never know what T-Rex might be leering inside. You can shop at the Dollar stores or Party City stores and get great deals on your decorations too.
