How to Host a Spa Party on a Budget

Tips for Planning a Low-Cost Spa Party

Hosting your own spa party is a great idea for your next girl's night. With a little creativity, you can create the perfect party that your friends will love, and still stay within a reasonable budget. So here are some fun ideas you can use for your next spa party.

Make Your Own Products - My favorite spa parties have been ones where we made our own spa products. This can be really fun, and is easier than you think. You can find easy directions for making your own lip gloss, lotions, body scrubs, and hair products. These products are fun and easy to make, and are usually only a fraction of the cost when you make them yourself. Spaindex.com has tons of fabulous recipes for products you can make at home. You can also use these recipes to make your own facial treatments. There are tons of ideas that will suit any skin type and can easily be made with ingredients from your local grocery store or health food store. This site is amazing! Make sure you check it out!

Mary Kay Parties - Another fun idea is to host a Mary Kay facial party at your house. These parties can be easily arranged with a local Mary Kay consultant. If you don't know one, you can always find one on their website. A Mary Kay consultant will come to your house and provide facials for you and your guests for free. You can also usually sample the Mary Kay "Satin Hands" and "Satin Lips" collections. These parties are designed to sell products, so make sure you and your guests are comfortable with that. But most Mary Kay parties I have been to were very relaxed and there was no pressure to buy. So it can be a great option if you are comfortable with the sales pitch aspect and especially if you and your guests are interested in buying new products.

Create a Relaxing Enviornment - Whatever type of spa party you decide to have, you'll want to set the scene for relaxation. Fun ideas might be to play calming music, set up candles, and arrange great scented oils or potpourri.

Party Food - If you want to serve your spa party guests food, you'll want to keep the foods light and natural. One idea I love is to make a fruit tray and serve it with fruit dip. I make an easy dip by combining cream cheese with marshmallow cream. This yummy dip is perfect served with apples, strawberries, grapes, or anything you like. You can also make vegetable trays or other light snacks, such as salads or sandwiches.

Great suggestions. Another thing you can do is get a group rate at a local spa. When you bring several friends to a local spa, particularly if the owner is from your community, it's easy to work out a significant discount. Great article!

The party food sounds refreshing for anytime! I like the idea of making your own spa products. That would be a fun activity for the group as well as trying them out. Nice job!
