How My Husband and I Announced We Were Pregnant

Kelly Fleming
I waited till I was almost 28 years old to have a baby. My parents have been pressuring me for years about getting pregnant. My mom would always throw in little hints like if it was around tax season you could claim your child even if you have him on December 31st. If we would go to a garage sale or an estate sale we would always have to look at the baby clothes, and she would be smiling the whole time.

I needed to mail my Mother something one time I believe it was documents or something of that nature. I had recently found out that I was pregnant. I gathered her papers put them in the envelope and labeled it 'Grandma Sandy' and was able to mail it the next day.

My Mother came down with the flu and was in bed for a week. I did not want to pressure her about going to the mailbox to retrieve those documents she would definitely know that something was up. I patiently waited and after 8 days my Mom retrieved the mail. She was so excited but also very mad at the fact she had to wait 8 days to find out.

We also sent a card to my Father labeled like my mother's card. When my Father checks his mail he just throws it on the table and he never looked at it until I brought it up. With my second child we just called everyone.
