The subconscious mind is fascinating. The personal power held within your subconscious mind can be used to aid in problem solving, Spiritual understanding, and enhancing every aspect of our personal lives.
Here are some of the major principles of the subconscious mind, explained in a simple manor, so you can begin to understand how applying these principles to your life can and will bring about major changes in your life.
All hypnosis, either using a Hypnotist, Hypnotherapist, or using self-hypnosis methods, is truly self-hypnosis. It is a dreamlike state between the awaken state and the sleep state. You can open your eyes at anytime, you are still aware of your surroundings, and you remain in complete control of what you do. You cannot be made to do anything that you would not normally do while in a hypnotic state. A Hypnotist guides you into a dreamlike state, where the subconscious mind takes each suggestion as a reality.
Everyone goes in and out of hypnosis 100 to 200 times per day. It is said that each of us goes into the deep dream or REM (Rapid Eye Movement) state from 7 to 8 times per day on our own. These hypnotic states are perfectly natural and perfectly safe.
The subconscious mind represents about 90% of your mind power, the conscious mind, about 10%. The majority of all your daily actions are controlled by your subconscious mind. Most of what you do every minute of every day are controlled by your subconscious mind. This is how powerful your subconscious mind is.
Sometimes, this is a difficult one for people to understand. You are not your body. You are a Spiritual being having a physical experience within a physical body. Understanding this idea is difficult for many, but it is very important to overall understanding of the subconscious.
Another difficult concept for many to understand is this: You are but a memory. 100% of everything you have ever thought, dreamed and experienced is stored within your body and mind as memories.
The events and trials that we encounter in life are stored in our bodies as memories the very moment that they occur. Each of these memories are alive within us and ready to manifest itself to us in a physical mental, emotional, or Spiritual from at anytime. All we need to do is discover the proper trigger for these memories. The subconscious mind can access all memories in the physical body as if they were it's own.
All of the major problems you experience in life were programmed into your memories during your first twelve years of life. Any problems or trials you incur after the age of twelve are simply triggers or symptoms of the first events.
All dominant thoughts become programs or habits within our subconscious mind. All habits, be it good or bad, reside within our subconscious mind, including those things that we think, say and do automatically, without conscious thought, but are actions from habit alone.
It takes 21 days to six weeks to consciously create a new habit or program. The subconscious can accepts a new program or suggestion instantly, but to turn it into unconscious effort or habit requires conscious repetition for this period.
When you fight a habit it will always win. You cannot just fight a habit; you must re-program your subconscious mind with new actions to replace them.
Habits can become addictions. The level of addictions is equal to the level of low self-esteem in your first twelve years.
The subconscious mind knows no difference between reality and imagination. Only your conscious mind can see, hear, smell, taste and touch - your five senses. The subconscious mind can only use imagination for programming and response. Use your imagination and think about biting into a lemon or dill pickle, then notice the twinge in your jaw and perhaps saliva in your mouth.
The subconscious mind is programmed much like a computer. You can program your subconscious mind positively or negatively through the conscious use of self-hypnosis by 1) visualization (clear picture), 2) affirmations. But this must be an effort you desire, and are committed to make.
By understanding these principles, you can better understand how effective the use of hypnosis can be for making positive personal changes in you life.
