Try to recall when your bought an e-book or any other product, and realized that it wasn't worth the price you paid for it. Look up reviews for that particular product on the Internet and you can be certain that you would find reviews that ramble that the product is the best of its kind.
What is the reason behind these falsified reviews? One possible answer is that the people who write these reviews are affiliate marketers. This means that that whenever a customer buys the product through the reviewer's link, the reviewer gets paid a percentage of the sale.
Affiliate marketing is a very efficient means to make a living online. There is absolutely nothing illegal in it, and many people do make a living by commissioning on the sales that are made possible through their affiliate links. However, you can't make a living for long if you put up falsified reviews and con people into buying these products.
The number one factor that ensures that an affiliate marketer makes it big in the online world is the trust factor. An affiliate marketer has to establish an honest and trusty relationship with his readers. This way, readers who are satisfied the product are more likely to come back and buy other products that the marketer reviewed. Even though putting up falsified reviews might get you a decent amount of money initially, it is not a viable source of income and is bound to crash at sometime or the other.
How do you identify the falsified reviews from the honest ones? Honestly, there is no solid way to identify a fraudulent review. However, there are some things you can keep in mind so that you can be on a look out for reviews that might be deceitful.
Try to sniff out the intention of the review. Is the review entirely focused on the positive aspects? Nothing is perfect in this world, and any product is bound to have its own set of flaws. An honest review is supposed to list both the pros and cons of the product. If all you see in a review is how good the product is or why you should immediately buy the product, then chances are that the review is not truthful. In fact an honest review doesn't even prod you to buy the product. It does what its supposed to do, which is to review the product, and leaves the ultimate decision of purchase to the judgment of the reader.
Keep this in mind the next time you look up reviews on a product. You might save the hassle of succumbing to an untruthful review and purchasing a product that is not right for you.
