How I'll Make $50,000 Online

Sharetha Emanuel
Nothing is more comforting than knowing that I can earn a nice income from the comfort of my own home-or in a coffee shop, or by the pool, or at the beach-virtually any place that I can access the wonderful World Wide Web.

There are a number of websites that pay for your online services-ranging from completing surveys to answering trivia questions asked by a company's customers to participating in online forums. Because a few of my favorite pastimes include reading, writing, and surfing the web, my chosen methods of earning payments online are to write articles on various subjects, and to participate in online forums.

My favorite companies for earning money online are Associated Content (who else?) for publishing articles, and myLot for the participating in forums.

So here is how my income will work.

With Associated Content, I have earned an average of a $3 upfront payment per article in the month and a half that I have been a Content Producer (on a side note, I hope to be able to increase the amount of this Upfront Payment with my new few article submissions, as I have read encouraging comments and articles from other Content Producers about earning as much as $20 in Upfront Payments). Since I'd like to think that the quality of my content is improving, for the purposes of this article, I am going to assume that my average Upfront Payment per article will be $5.

I also earn extra money each time my articles are viewed-a minimum of $1.50 per 1,000 page views. As I learn to better distribute my content, I think it would be reasonable to estimate that I could receive 1,000 page views per article per month-and that is a minimal number.

It usually takes me 30 minutes to an hour to write an article, depending on how familiar I am with the subject. If I really pushed myself, I could write five articles per day. So let's say that I produce five quality pieces of content per day, six days a week (I will not be producing any content on Sundays). That is 30 articles per week or 120 articles per month. At an average Upfront Payment of $5, I will earn $600 upfront per month from my content submissions. My minimum monthly residual income would be $180 ($1.50 per 1,000 page views for each of my 120 articles) for a total of $780 per month-not bad!

After a little over eight months, I should be over 1,000,000 total page views. That means at this point, I will earn $2.00 per 1,000 page views. For the remainder of that year, I'll earn a minimum of $600 per month in Upfront Payments and a minimum of $240 in residual income or a total of $840 per month. For one year, I have the potential to earn at least $9,600 with Associated Content.

As far as the income from myLot, no one really knows how a participant's earnings are calculated. From my experience, I have been earning about $1 per day by participating in online forums. That equates to about $30 per month or $10,950 per year.

Between these two online companies, I can make $20,550 per year-approximately the same salary as a bank teller or a substitute teacher. At this rate, it would only take me 2.5 years to make $50,000.

I never said that making $50,000 online would be easy. In fact, it will definitely be a challenge, but I have high expectations. Here's to my goal of halfway making six figures!
