Napa Valley Marathon, March 6th 2011
Live the good life before spending time at your favorite sport. This is the case for the Friday evening wine sipping event accompanied by a jazz quartet. Once you embark on your run from Calistoga to Napa you'll find yourself blazing through the primarily flat Silverado Trail taking you through 26.2 miles of fabulous vineyards. You can end the run with a massage therapist to soothe your aching muscles.

Ogden Marathon, Ogden, Utah May 21st 2011
Veteran marathoners everywhere know this race as one of the most scenic races in America. It has a great scenic route, but without the steep climbs that accompany the terrain. Actually, if you're looking for a bit of an easier route, this may be the one you want as it progressively drops 1,100 feet as it winds down deserted country roads through national forest land. The highlight of this course takes you through Ogden Canyon, as you run along the river until your arrival at a local waterfall. It's all about the scenery at this race.
ING New York City Marathon, November 6th 2011
If you're someone that isn't going to make a habit of running marathons, then make this the one you go with. Over 2 million people strong you'll be in great company on your journey. Not to mention music power that exceeds over 130 bands. Wow, sounds like quite the event. The night before is adorned with fireworks in central park and the crowds going about 10 people deep will motivate you to keep up the good work.
This is just a few of the great marathon races you'll encounter this year. However, if you're looking for a few more that may interest you, take a look at the Runner's World list for many more throughout the country all through 2011.
