When you are trying to conceive, a man often feels more like a sperm donor than a lover. The sex is no longer about passion, but instead is more about dates, timing, temperature, and ovulation tests. Nothing is sexier than a woman running at you waving a stick in the air, right? Well, in order to keep your husband interested, try spicing things up. Put on that sexy lingerie you have forgotten about and dim the lights. Baby making will then change to something he looks forward to. Also, keep all the details of your cycle to yourself. Even though it may seem harsh, men usually don't have any interest in whether or not you are fertile. They may want to get pregnant too, but they definitely want to make love to their wife without feeling neglected. Be careful and think of your husband's feelings while trying to conceive and it is more likely for him to become more interested.
Once you have become pregnant, it seems as though everything now revolves around the baby. Where will the baby sleep? What color will we paint the nursery? Questions like these will swarm your mind, just be careful they don't consume it. When you are with your husband, talk to him about his day before explaining all the great stuff you bought for the baby. It is important for the husband to be involved in the planning, but also to still feel loved and appreciated by his wife. By limiting baby conversation, your husband will be more interested in talking about it when the time comes.
Being pregnant means tons of doctor's appointments. Talk to your husband and let him know what goes on at those appointments or, better yet, ask him to come along. A lot of times, a man doesn't understand everything about pregnancy, but seeing his own flesh and blood on an ultra sound monitor will change things drastically. He can now put a little face with that bundle of joy you've created together. While at the doctor's office, be sure your husband gets to ask any questions he has and let him have input on the decisions that are made.
By allowing your husband to be involved in your pregnancy, he will feel like you are both pregnant. It is enough that most of your friends will be more interested in your ever growing belly then talking with him, don't let that happen to you. Be sure you make your husband feel loved and appreciated and you will both be able to enjoy your pregnancy.
