How to Increase Your Life Span

Sydney
Everyone wants to live a long and healthy life. But the question is, how and what exactly do you have to do to increase your life span? Well, here are some tips on how to live longer.

1. Be happy.

Everyone knows that happiness if the key to a longer life. Why is that? Because anger and stress are known to be detrimental to our well-being. If you constantly find yourself angry, then your blood pressure will surely skyrocket in no time. Being stressed out all the time isn't good for our health either. Stress can cause a domino effect in our lives. Not only does it affect our sleeping patterns, but it also contributes to how we are feeling mentally. Many people have problems falling asleep because they're always worrying about something and not shutting their brain off to let their bodies recover.

2. Don't smoke.

Simply said, smoking causes cancer and cuts our lives shorter. It's never too late to change your bad habits. If you want to live a longer life, then you should try to quit smoking now.

3. Eat healthy.

Instead of grabbing that bag of potato chips, why don't you munch on some celery sticks with peanut butter instead? Eating fruits and vegetables daily can reduce the risk of many cancers. Not only will eating produce increase your life span, but it will also help maintain your weight, which is just an added bonus! Also, instead of eating out, you should consider eating home-made meals because restaurant food usually contains a lot of calories. Furthermore, avoid sugar filled drinks, such as soda. Sugar contributes to obesity. Grab a bottle of water instead of that canned soda. Water flushes out the toxins in our bodies, which is why it is so important to be hydrated all the time.

4. Exercise.

Exercising at least 30 minutes a day can significantly lower blood pressure and the risk of becoming diabetic. Exercising makes us feel better about ourselves and it is said to make us feel rejuvenated. Instead of forcing yourself to push it to the limit, you should try gradually introducing exercise in your life because you are more prone to stick to the routine. Dedicate half an hour of the day to walking or jogging, whether it's done on a treadmill or around the block. Any kind of exercise eventually becomes beneficial.

Keep these tips in mind because not only are they the key to longevity, but they are also the answers to a better life!
