How to Increase Your Page Views and Performance Payments on Associated Content

B.J. Rychener
I have been writing for Associated Content for a little under seven months now. It was very slow going at first, I was earning less than a $1 a month, but now by utilizing a few little 'tricks' I have increased my monthly earnings at Associated Content to approximately $10.

I know, $10 is not a lot, but when you break it down over the seven month period it is a 1000% growth and over 100% growth average per month. So, at this rate I should be making $100 a month in another seven months, which would actually pay a bill or two!

Anyway, I want to share some of my tips to increase your page views and performance pay on Associated Content.

First and foremost - Learn Search Engine Optimization techniques!!! It does make a difference. Yes I know sometimes you can make your writing style seem less readable but incorporating good search engine optimization into your article is what causes search engines to actually notice you and your content. At first it will be difficult, but with practice you will learn to weave search engine optimization into your articles with little effort and smoothly so that your articles are easier to read.

Second, my highest paying articles are of holiday events and local events. I have had 5273 total views on my article "Top Ten New Years Eve 2010 Fireworks Displays" and am still getting paid for that article this month with 59 page views. In the month of October, November, and December I received over 8000 views on my various holiday events and local events. Halloween was by far the most popular; I had almost 1500 page views on my "Halloween Haunting Events for Salisbury Maryland".

A branch off the holiday and local events is to write about local news. These are the best type of articles to forward to your friends and family because they will most likely forward them on to their friends, family, and co-workers. And if you utilize a little search engine optimization these are the kind of articles that will pull up first in a search engine when someone searches for your keywords even if they aren't local.

My third recommendation is to make friends with your fellow Associated Content writers. If you 'Fan' or 'Follow' them, they are more than likely going to 'Fan' or 'Follow' you back and visit your articles and make comments. Making connections with fellow writers on Associated Content is probably the best way to increase your page views prior to learning search engine optimization and other helpful writing skills. Some of my favorites are Abby Greenhill, Angel Vee, David A. Reinstein, LCSW, Eric Rychener, Jeffrey Weeks, Jenny Hart, John Smither, and Marc Schenker who all publish on a variety of topics that I am interested in, including health care, politics, television/movie reviews, news, and poetry.

I apologize to the writers I didn't mention but there are just too many wonderful writers on Associated Content that if I listed them all I may find there is a limit to the maximum words AC would take in an article. (Smile)

And one last tip I have for all you writers out there wanting to increase your performance payments - DO SOME SOCIAL NETWORKING! It is amazing what Social Networking sites like Twitter (http://www.twitter.com/bjrychener) and Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/bjrychener) can do to increase your fan base. Follow me and I will follow you...

I hope this helps those of you out there looking to make more money in performance payments by increasing your page views!
