How to Increase Your Referrals

Like every other business, a medical practice also requires to attract clientele. Look at it as a business and understand that it needs to be taken seriously and promoted so that it converts into income through a good practice.

You need to remember two things. Firstly understand that about eighty percent of your billed earnings come from roughly twenty percent of your clients. Secondly marketing can be expensive, in fact more expensive than maintaining your present customers. Let us see how we can improve marketing. Here are three ways how this can be done..

Ensure you can create a good experience:

Teach your staff to value and attend to each customer that they are encouraged to come and also feel they are a part of the set up. Small gestures like offering water or offering them magazines of their interest while they wait will make them feel good. This will make your waiting chamber an area where your clients feel comfortable and wanted. People are after all emotional creatures and such gestures will make them refer you to others, because their own experience has been worth it.

Following up and remaining in touch:

Sending out birthday cards is a nice gesture that is always appreciated. It makes the receiver feel important and wanted. Enclose your business card with it as this could create the right impact. If you take pictures with your clients, send them copies in inexpensive, simple frames they can accommodate on their mantelpiece. They would be proud to display you as their doctor and conversations with visitors to their home, will soon lead to your receiving a good referral. Conduct surveys about the quality of your service and office staff. This will go far in making clients feel you care for their comfort and well-being.

Have a user-friendly website:

See that your website it is user friendly and informative, and one that your customers can use for small queries related to common colds, headaches and stomach upsets. This will provide them remedial information they need at the click of a mouse and will enhance their experience validating your own skills and expertise, and give good reasons for you to be considered a good physician.

Last but not the least, word-of-mouth goes a long way towards promoting your skills as a good physician. Your clients will soon become appreciative fans and this will ensure you have a steady and good clientele, with an income to match.
