How to Get Ink Out of Clothes

JR Smith
In day to day life people have a tendency to get things dirty. Particularly their clothes which have to be worn everyday, unless of course you are on a nudist colony but that's another story. It can be very disheartening to throw away a shirt or dress that has an irremovable stain from it but would be perfectly good otherwise. Surely, most everyone has faced this predicament at one point. One of the hardest stains to get out of clothing is ink. Whether it is from the printer or a pen in the kitchen, ink is a notorious stain to get out of clothes. These are typically very large ones as well as the material is usually spilled out over everything. Luckily there are a couple of ways to get ink stains removed from clothing.

If the material is made of a white fabric then we may only need bleach and water. Allowing the white clothes to be soaked in bleach for an extended period of time will not only help lift the stain but the whites will be whiter. Now do not do this trick with normal colors as then you have to deal with bleach stains. The ink may get removed in this case but good luck with the white bleach splotch!

You could also try to use oxy-clean. This is a product that I am sure you have seen advertised on television by good ole' Billy Mays. It is a made for TV product that can be used as a detergent of sorts to remove stains of all kinds. Will it work on ink? Most certainly but you will have to pay for it and it is surely not 100 percent guaranteed.

This all leads to the most useful ink stain remover tool out there: hair spray. The great thing about hair spray is that it should be common in most households and, even if it is not, then it is surely in stock at the local market. Spray it on the mark, let it set and then wash in cold water. That's all there is to it. You may have to repeat those steps a few times but it will certainly work.

I've also heard rubbing alcohol will work for some ink stains.
