How to Install Delphi 7

Delphi is an integrated development environment which runs on windows.

As it is a RAD (Rapid Application Development), Delphi is very easy to handle and it is quite easy to create all sorts of applications. Delphi implements an object-oriented (OOP) language Pascal, so if you already know the language Pascal, Delphi should not be too difficult to handle for you.

We will see the installation of Delphi 7 personal in this tutorial, it is the free version.

1. Installing Delphi 7 Staff

Once you have the Delphi 7 CD, run the installation.

Click the Next button.

Then you will be asked for a serial number and authorization key, you can get this from the website since it's free for personal use.

Enter the serial number and the authorization key of Delphi 7 and click "Next".

Read the licensing agreement, check "I accept the terms of this license agreement" if you accept and click Next.

Click "Next" after you read the installation notes of Delphi 7. You will be asked to choose an installation type; we will choose "Standard".

Choose the installation location of Delphi 7, and the shared files directory, or leave default settings as they are.

Then you have the choice of "Save the database on the hard drive" or not.

I recommend leaving it at default.

You will only have to click "Next" to start the installation.

Once installation is complete, you should have a new menu entitled "Borland Delphi 7" in your start menu, click "Delphi 7" to launch.

2. Saving Delphi 7

The first time you launch Delphi 7, you will get a confirmation window asking to accept the license agreement.

Click "Next" and enter your serial number and authorization key, which you can find on the site of Borland if you have not already.

Continue again on the next window you will have to read and accept the license agreement of the software.

Choose "register later" and the program will still launch.

Check "I want to create a new recording software".

Continue and enter your account information or sign up.

Then the software will connect to the Internet for registration, continue to the end and click Finish when the transaction is completed. If the operation fails for a connection problem or another, still click on Finish.

3. Launching Delphi 7

Now Delphi 7 must be ran directly without asking you again to register because you just did it.

If you click the "Help" tab then "About" you will see that your software is registered with the registration key.

Here we have just seen the installation of Delphi 7, you will now be able to use it.
