Step1:
Determine the number of playing activities you want to construct for your playground. Project kits offer a wide choice of play themes such as swings, slides and climbing activities.
Step2:
Measure the area you decide to construct the play equipment, keeping in mind if the location will be in the shade and also in an area where you can keep an eye on the children.
Step3:
Typical tools you will need for this project would include a circular saw, drill screwdrivers, tape measure, combination square, hammer and pliers.
Step4:
Once you have the measurements, go to your Home Center and ask where to find Play Equipment project kits. Each project kit has a number assigned to it. When you have decided which one you want, give the project number to the sales person and they will print out the parts list for your lumber, nails, screws, and any additional items not included with the kit. Things such as bracket, bolts, etc come with the kit.
Step5:
Prepare the area you are going to assemble the play equipment. Clean the entire area of rocks and cushion the area with mulch or play sand. The deeper the better protection for when the children fall.
Step6:
Regular inspect the play equipment for any loose bolts or brackets. Any fasteners that are loose will need to be tighten with the appropriate tool.
Tip: Child's safety should always be your number 1 priority when assembling any play equipment and preparing the play area.
