How to Install and Use Nextgen Gallery Plugin in WordPress
Next-Gen is a Very Popular Gallery Plug-in for WordPress
The first step is to get the nextgen gallery plugin by downloading it.
Then using a program like FTP access the server in your site.
Locate the /wp-content/ plugins folder and ensure that you upload the plugin file there.
Next -at the top you will find the menu where you will click on plugins. This is on the administration panels.
If you have installed the plugin properly you will see nextgen gallery plugin listed there. However, if the plugin is not visible use the FTP program and find out by looking in the folder to see whether the plugin is installed. In case the plugin has not been installed you will need to do another file upload. Nevertheless, if you realize that the plugin has been installed then delete the files and do another upload.
You are almost done with the installation of nextgen gallery. Activation is the next thing and you activate the plugin by clicking on the word Activate found far on the list's right hand side.
Look at the administration panels to be sure that your plugin is functioning.
The next thing is to configure the nextgen gallery plugin; this is not always necessary. Sometimes the plugin won't require any set up. That said, if the plugin requires some configuration it will indicate by adding a tab to the administration panels. Normally it is expected that the plugin tabs in WordPress will be placed under Options. But this it is just that; an expectation. There are those who prefer to have the tab at a place they consider it very easy to use. User friendly! Still, some other WordPress users prefer to have it anywhere they deem appropriate. Have a look at nextgen's official page to get instructions on where the original configuration panel is.
Different plugins in WordPress have different author instructions. By configuring a plugin it varies where plugin's content will be seen on your WordPress blog. There are plugins that require you to change or add the default information.
Finally, now that your nextgen gallery plugin has been installed and it is ready to use you can try to see the changes it will have on your blog. To do this, clear the cache of the browser you are using. It is known as refreshing. If you are using IE you can refresh it by holding down the Shift key and then hit F5. Firefox users can refresh it by holding down Ctrl+Shift+R.
Enjoy the clean version of your page and the new changes on your WordPress blog!
