Outdoor Speakers can add atmosphere to any yard, but finding the right spot, outdoor speakers and installing them can be a pain in the neck. Hopefully after reading this you will feel confident in all the task that it takes to installing your outdoor speakers and saving you some money by doing it yourself. So lets get started.

First you need to determine where your outdoor speakers are going to go so you can figure out what kind of outdoor speakers will best suit your needs. Once you determine where your speakers are going to go then you can figure out if you are going to want rock speakers, landscape speakers or wall or ceiling mount speakers.

Next you will need to calculate how much speaker wire you are going to need how you are going to run it. Or if you are going to use wireless speakers, they cost a little more but take much less work and less time to install. If you are going to use wired speakers you will have to find the path you are going to use to run the wire and if you are just going to bury the wire or run it in conduit. I recommend running your wire underground in conduit so gophers and other animals don't chew through it.

Now you should have picked out your location figured out how much wire you were going to need and got the speakers you are going to use (wired, wireless, landscape, rock, etc...) Now if you were going to run your wire in conduit you should have dug your hole. I would use no bigger that 1/2" conduit for this. You will also have to drill a small hole into your house where the wire will run into you home theater system.

Next you will be ready to hook up your outdoor speakers, Be sure to hook up the + and - the same way on your speakers and your receiver if you do this wrong you will not get any sound to your speakers. After you have ran all your wire through the hole you drilled through your wall you should fill the hole with some silicone caulk. This will keep Bugs and moisture out of your house. You also may need to check your owners manual for hooking up your outdoor speakers to your stereo system.

Now you should be ready to listen to music outdoors. So now pull out your barbecue, turn up the hot tub, and get ready for some great parties. Many people don't use their yards enough, this is a great way to get the kids away from the TV. Maybe next you will want to install a patio or even maybe a pool? Whatever you will want to do next remember you can do it yourself and save a little money doing it.
