How the Internet Interests Me

Kelly Rolka Nelson

What would we do without the internet? I grew up without it, my kids are growing up with it! It's so awesome! If you look around you, people are on their phones using the net, & even go to the library to use it. Here's my favorite things to do on the net.

1.Shopping

Wow, what a convenience, shop right from your home! Bad weather hits, or if you're sick, that's fine, just get on your computer. Why fight the crowds at Christmas time? Why drive in bad weather? Why drag the kids to the store & put up with temper tantrums? Also, you may find some items online that you wouldn't find in the stores. I could not find new legs for my couch at my local home improvement stores, so I got online, & guess what? Yep, found online! I even found my drawer handles online, got a great price too!

2.Social Networking

You can find old friends & people from your past on sites like Facebook & Myspace for free. There's a ton of things to do on there. You can even make new friends, so no need to be lonely, get out there & talk to people, you may find out some things you never knew.

3.Look Up Information

You can find information on almost everything! Amazing that right in front of you, right at your fingertips, you can find info from A to Z. I love how I can get directions on how to get somewhere, or find out what time my favorite grocery store closes. I can look up reviews on hotels, & even book it online.

4.Watch Videos

Being a busy mom, sometimes I don't get to watch my favorite soap opera. With sites like Youtube & Hula, I can watch my shows for free, right from my computer. You can also find videos on whatever interests you. My little son likes Thomas the train videos, & my teens like music videos.

5.Banking & Paying Bills

Most banks have online banking, which is great that you can keep an eye on your account balance. Also, paying bills online is so easy, & usually free. I pay my internet & phone bill online, it only takes a couple of minutes. Just make sure you have a secure network, & you shouldn't have any problems.

The internet is a great resource & is here to stay. Join the many that connect everyday!
