One thing that is almost always the case is that when you have young children your house is going to get messy, but thankfully you can have your young children help you with the cleaning. Four and five years old is the perfect age to introduce the concept of doing chores if you haven't already. A major help is to give the chore of helping with the cleaning. There are lots of things that your young kids can do to help with cleaning, something they will probably like because they get to help mommy or daddy.

When it comes to helping out with the clean up in the kitchen something that your young child can help out with is wiping off the kitchen counters and the dining room table. This is great for when you are doing dishes and want to be able to keep an eye on your child and you'll be able to chat and spend time with them. When you are cleaning your bathroom you can give your child the job of cleaning the mirrors. Spraying the glass cleaner and wiping it off is a very fun and helpful job. In the bedroom your young child can help make the bed. As for the rest of the house there are lots of ways that they can help with cleaning.

Dusting is the perfect job for a little child, it is easy and fun, and there is always plenty of dusting that needs to be done. General straightening up can be shown to a young children as well, straightening up magazines on the coffee table and what not is also a great job to give young children. You can help your child to learn that if they pick up after themselves more and more that the rooms will stay nicer. So the next time that you need to vacuum or sweep the living room floor you can give your young child the task of dusting or straightening up and clean up will get done quicker leaving more time for the two of you to play together.

As mentioned before one thing that is great when you and your children can do while you are cleaning together is spending time with one another, that would have been eaten up by you just cleaning all by yourself. Also it instills the concept of chores and your child will appreciate a clean room much more and want to keep things cleaner.
