How the New iPod Touch is Just like the iPhone 4 - Minus the Phone

The new 4^th generation iPod Touch was recently unveiled and it bears a striking resemblance to the recently released iPhone 4. Following are several ways the new iPod Touch ripped off the iPhone 4 - well, except the phone part.

Retina Display

The new iPod Touch 4^th generation has an all new HD display that will be brighter and more detailed than any other iPod Touch in the past - well it's not "all" new: The iPhone rocked the new Retina display first. The new Retina display of the 4^th Generation iPod Touch and iPhone 4 will feature four times the pixel count of previous iPod models and makes the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 two pretty pocket gadgets to goggle at.

FaceTime

FaceTime is the video chatting app that was first introduced with the release of the iPhone 4, but this feature was so beloved by Apple fans that Apple felt compelled to add FaceTime to the all-new iPod Touch. FaceTime will allow iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 users to share live video feeds, chat quickly via their HD cameras, and stay in touch with friends a lot easier.

Multitasking

The iPhone 4 and iOS 4 brought multitasking to iDevices and allows users to instantly switch between apps, continue where they've left off with switched apps, play background audio, run GPS apps in the background, and run VOIP apps without interrupting other apps as well. The iPod Touch 4^th gen also runs on iOS 4 and will allow iPod Touch 4 users to enjoy the same multitasking benefits of iPhone 4 users.

HD Video Camera

An inbuilt camera was one of the most begged for iPod Touch features in the past and Apple fans are finally getting what they want with the new inbuilt HD video camera in the 4^th generation iPod Touch. iPhone's have had inbuilt cameras before the iPhone 4, but the new camera of the iPhone 4 is a total nod to the iPhone 4's internal camera.

Overall, the new 4^th gen iPod Touch is pretty much an iPhone 4 clone without a phone and with a few minor aesthetic differences.
