Magic (or "magick" as it is popularly spelled among Witches to distinguish energy manipulation from stage magic) can't give you the world on a silver platter; that's just not how it works. What it can do is help you to raise and focus energy towards your goal. The better you are able to do this, the better the chance of your spell working. You don't have to be a Wiccan or Pagan to practice candle magic, and it is one of the best types of magic for people new to Witchcraft.
There are a few things you should remember about candle magic before you begin. The first is the ethical considerations. You don't need to do magic to harm or manipulate others to make good things happen for yourself; in fact, in the long run, negative karma will come and cause you more problems than your spells may have solved in the first place.
Another thing to remember is that magic works best when there is a clear channel for it to utilize. If you wanted to pour a bowl of water into a bottle, you wouldn't just set the bottle on the table, grab hold of the bowl and thrust it at the bottle, letting the liquid splash and scatter all over the table and floor. Your best course of action would be to put a funnel in the bottle and aim the water directly into the mouth of the funnel. It's the same with magic: you don't want to throw your energy around to scatter, you want to focus it like a laser. That means having a specific goal in mind- you want to aim it all at that bottle so you don't waste a precious drop. You also want to give yourself a mundane but practical way to deliver that energy- like that funnel. That means being sure to have the right background for the job, an attention-grabbing resume, impeccable references and making a good impression on the interview. Magic can only enhance your chances for getting a specific position; it can't make you qualified if you haven't put in the work.
Finally, whenever you are doing candle magic, keep in mind safety tips: place your candle on a flat, heat-proof surface far from any flammable materials or substances, use a sturdy holder and never leave flames unattended.
Spell Materials and Supplies:
Lighter or matches
Censer
Self-igniting incense charcoal
Dried sage or powdered sandalwood
1 virgin taper candle, green
1 service taper
High John the Conqueror oil
Paper or parchment
Pen, marker, writing implement
Cauldron or heat-proof pot
Bath Bundle (optional):
thyme
rosemary
dill
Cheesecloth
String
Plan to cast your spell the night before the interview, or the morning of it just before you get ready to leave. Prepare a room in your home where you will cast your spell by giving it a good cleaning. Before casting the spell, place a piece of incense charcoal in a censer and burn dried sage or sandalwood to cleanse the room and give it good energy. Set all the items on your altar or work surface.
Ensure your privacy. Turn off your phone. If possible, work when no one else is home, or ask that you not be disturbed.
Whenever possible, ritually cleanse yourself before casting a spell. This can be as simple as taking a quick shower or bath. Give yourself an extra booth with an appropriate bath bundle. Spread out a double layer of cheesecloth and add to it a handful of thyme to give you courage, rosemary to enhance your intellect and dill to make you irresistible. Gather the herbs (dry or fresh) in the cheesecloth into a bundle and tie it up. Add it to your warm bath water for your soak, or rub it over yourself in the shower.
Go to your work surface. Light your service candle and place it in a holder. Service candles are used for lighting the spell candle at the appropriate moment. You can keep a white one on your altar and use it each time you cast a spell. Set it aside until you are ready for it.
Take your virgin green taper candle. You should always use a virgin (unused) candle for spells because you don't want to use one that may have absorbed energies that may thwart your goal. Green is the color most often associated with abundance and prosperity (consider how fertile land is full of greenery, how paper money is the color green, etc.) so it is a good choice, however if another color is more meaningful to you in connection to getting the job you want, feel free to substitute it.
Pour some High John the Conqueror oil- which promotes success and will help you win the position- into your receptive hand (or less dominant) hand. Hold your candle at the base with your projective (dominant) hand. Begin to "dress" the candle, or anoint and charge it, with the oil. Use your receptive hand, starting at the top of the candle, and stroking the candle downward toward the base. Going from the tip to the end of the candle helps bring things towards you. As you do this, visualize yourself as a strong, intelligent, confident candidate. Continue dressing the candle until it feels like it is pulsing and sparking with energy (this may take 40 to 60 strokes). Set the spell candle in the holder and light it with your service candle.
Take your paper (use green if desired) and writing implement. Write the name of the company that you are interviewing with across the page. Below that, write "(your name): Hired" onto it.
Visualize yourself having (not getting, but having) the job. Try to see yourself pulling into work in the parking lot of this company, doing your job, being complimented by your boss and getting a paycheck from the company with your name on it. Hold this visualization for as long as possible- 5 minutes is fine, but 20, 30 or 60 minutes would be better. The more detailed the visualization, the better.
Fold the paper and light it on the candle. Throw it into the heat-proof pot and allow it to burn into ashes. Take a few breaths and relax. Center yourself. Allow the candle to burn out on it's own.
Go on your interview. When you come back, mix the wax remnants with the ashes and bury them near your front door in the ground or in a flower pot of soil. Send your interviewer a thank-you card and try not to think about it anymore so you don't thwart your own intent with worries.
If you are suited for the job, this spell will boost your chances of getting it. If it should come to pass that you don't get the job, don't despair. It means you were not ready for it, or not prepared for this particular job's challenges. The visualization of you succeeding would have never come to pass at this job- it might have not turned out to be as good a position as you expected or you may have been miserable or struggling in it too much to succeed. Keep trying, and when the right job comes along, candle magic will help improve your chances for landing your dream job.
