Running is one of the best source of exercise in the world. It's an amazing way to burn calories, stay in shape and relieve stress. Even though it's a great form of exercise, running can become repetetive and boring. How do you find ways to keep your workout fun and make it worth while. Here are some tips that will make your jog just that.

Exercise is always made easier when you have music. If you want to enjoy your jog incorporate music into your jog. With today's technology it has become much easier and more convient to enjoy your music. The ipod has probably become the most popular method of carrying your music. With the latest ipods a person can carry as much as 160 GB of music in a device smaller than their hand. If you don't want to fork out the money for an ipod there are lots of other great mp3 players that are at a reasonable price. Today most mp3 players come with a strap or some device to clip your player on so that you can enjoy your music without having to hold it. Make sure to get some lightweight headphones that will be comfortable on your ears.

Every great jog begins with getting good shoes. A good pair of running shoes could be the difference between a comfortable run and a tense run. Shop around and find the brand of shoes that works for you. It may take a couple of runs to break your shoes in. Then, make sure you know when to switch shoes. Comfortable running shoes will make for a much better running experience.

Jogging with a friend is also a great way to make your job fun. First off, you will probably be more likely to keep up your running routine if you have a partner. As a duo, you can motivate each other when you really don't feel like running. Second, this is a great time to talk about things going on in your life. Share new events, plans or concerns while getting your workout in. You probably won't even notice how hard you are working because you will be wrapped up in conversation.

Learn to treat yourself. No I'm not talking about an ice cream sundae, or choclate chip cookies. I'm refering to other forms of rewards. Buy yourself new work out clothes or a new outfit once you've accomplished a certain running goal. Plan a weekend getaway or vacation. Even better do something with your running partner to celebrate your accomplshments.

Learn to rest. This can be a challenge for hardcore exercise guros. However rest is just as important as running. You have to learn to take breaks and rest. Muscles need time to rebuild and heal. If you want to enjoy your running more, learn to rest.

Running is one of the best ways of exercising that exists. Learn to make it more enjoyable by doing these simple things.
