How to Keep Your Account from Getting Hacked

I am writing this article for all of those who have concerns about having their accounts hacked. Our good friend Phil Avriel has had his account hacked. Another friend from AC got an email from Phil requesting money because he was stranded in the U.K. I told her that I had heard of this scam before. Someone who had a facebook account supposedly was stranded in the U.K. They needed money immediately and were asking this person's good friend to please wire it to them immediately. We both discussed Phil's email and were sure that it wasn't him. I told her that I was sure that his account had been hacked. It didn't sound like Phil. He is a Christian and the email didn't have any similarity to our Phil's writing.

I was able to contact Phil and this is how he responded to me. I am writing this for Phil and also for any of us who may have had any of our accounts compromised. I know that Nancy Canfield has had problems with this in the past. I don't believe that it is AC's fault in anyway and hope that Phil can get back with no problems. This is really scary to think that this can happen to any of us.

I know that one thing that is important is to not put your personal email on your profile. That seems to have been one way that this hacker got into Phil's account. Sadly some of the Christian friend's of Phil's jumped all over him and never considered that it wasn't Phil that was requesting money.

I am including Phil's letter to me with his permission so you can see what happened to him. Hopefully this will be a help to all of us in the future.

Thank you so much for your concern towards me. It's really good to know that you decided to write an article about it. This is to give you a little more information to support that cause.
I used to regularly write comments to the current yahoo news through their buzz up service and am a regular contributor to different Christian web sites.

I have given my other alternative ID as well as their sites that I regularly visit. They can easily trace this since I regularly posted comments on their news items through buzz up page. Sometime back one of my friends who is a Christian web site owner and regular writer about Christianity and Muslim, his site as well as his ID gmail got hacked and immediately he got it back. I don't know why yahoo is lacking in this area.bahrainbrethren.com, sakhi.com,theundergroundsite.com, Christianpost, etc. I doubt that this is the handiwork of some Christian haters or perhaps someone from the political side, whatever it is yahoo's cool side is really strange. They said first that they would respond in 24 hours but now 72 hours have passed and I just received a question yesterday asking to answer two security questions which I don't remember correctly but I still answered the question.

If anyone has any other ideas on how to help Phil or how to prevent hackers please let us know in an article of your own.
