How to Keep the Car Clean

Ice Cream or Candy?

Jury had already given the verdict. The verdict had gone against me. "My car is dirty." My sister's little 6-year-old son had finally announced his verdict.

I admit with him 100 percent. There is no time to keep the car clean. It's not easy being a doctor and mother. Running from one hospital to another in this mad traffic and doing surgery to my patients with such expertise.

The car is full of medicines, prescriptions, hospital papers and my surgical kit. Surgical box goes for sterilization after every surgery. The rest of it need to be cleaned.

I do take the car for occasional car wash. The automatic ones. Inside cleaning is a laborious process. I sometimes run the small vacuum cleaner as if it is a God sent one and has all the magical powers. It does sucks a lot of dust, pens, syringes, packets and some medicines.

When I drive and beaks for in red lights suddenly some ancient water bottle roll and surface in the front and vanishes as the car gains momentum. When I am really thirsty it is the rule of the thumb I don't find any water bottle to my rescue. I always console myself, 'heated plastic water bottles are dangerous and they cause breast cancer..'

When I give the car for service next, I have to ask them where the water bottles are hiding in such a small car.

In rainy days I do prompt action for cockroaches as I am very scared of that spooky creatures. In one of these days I will clean the car.

I have a dream to own a spotless, clean car like my dad. It's a lot of work. I have to take care of the car like a baby. I have already two little brats to take care of. While driving I have to literally meditate in between their fights. Inside the car, there are toy fights, juice fights, candy fights, snack fights and so on. Fights are in numerous. The list goes on and on.

Kids throw candy wrappers, snack wrappers and accidentally candies too roll inviting their friends, ants. These ants are very friendly to my kids. Flies are also guest in my car. Surprisingly these flies too are very friendly with my kids.

At times playing with snacks get too candid inside the car, two brats giggle and scream and throw the snack packs to one another. Those are tense moments for me. No rules go well with these brats. Patience and silence are the only tool I have managed. The snack packs land sometimes on your lap while driving. I usually start munching the snacks happily when such fights go out of control. When they get bored they stop it by themselves.

I should be a super human being to keep such a car clean.

At time I think I am a super woman. While driving I have to turn and take the juice can from kids and open it without spilling it, drive carefully without any accidents. Incidentally you should keep the kids quiet too. I should have some extra ordinary magical powers.

The car is full of audio tapes and Cd's. This is the only way I have invented to keep the kids quiet while driving. If you are in the car with kids and stuck in traffic jam for hours, then you really had it.

So son, I can trade a treat of Baskin Robbins or a packet of candies with you to keep your mouth shut. The choice is yours. Enjoy the ice-cream or a packet of candy. Clean cars are not for people like me. They are for someone who have the time and perseverance. I have none.
