How to Keep Your Car Shiny

New Wash and Wax Works Wonders!

Don Lee
Every week or so, I run my truck through a truck-wash. It has big scrubbers that get the bugs and dirt off without my having to lift a hand. The car, one the other hand, is a different story. The wife takes it through the local carwash and finds most of the road "grunge" still obvious (even after paying $7.50)! She recently found a new product that cleans the road grime and leaves a sparkling shine. It's called "Chalet Wash and Wax". She bought it at our local automotive supply store for a very small price.

"Chalet Wash and Wax" is easy for her to use. She simply follows the directions and mixes a few ounces of the thick orange liquid in a bucket of water from the garden hose. With an old towel, she washes the vehicle, making sure to get every nook and cranny (and the entire hood and top, too!) and rinses with the garden hose. She doesn't get around very well and had trouble bending, but the rag is light and she manages to cover every inch of the car with the wet towel.

She always rinses it twice, to make sure she got everything. As it starts to dry, she can see any spots she missed and goes back over them with the wet towel. Rinsing again to be sure the waxy soap doesn't linger where it isn't welcome. Once it has finished drying, she does the windows with Windex to be sure they'll be clean, and details the interior with Armor-all. When the whole vehicle is completed, it always looks great!

"Chalet Wash and Wax" is much better than the products she used to use. She has even used dishwashing soap with just a touch of floor wax to make it shine when it's clean. Those ideas didn't do a bad job, exactly, but the car didn't look nearly as good as it does with "Chalet Wash and Wax."

As the label promises, it keeps water beading between washes, the formula is concentrated and it gives a great Carnauba wax shine.

If a little rain douses your newly washed car, you can even spray it with the hose and get the same results as a fresh wash job. She commented that after the car dried, she used her hand to wipe away the few spatters from the hose and it still looked perfect!
