How to Keep Your Family Safe from Toxic Household Cleaners

Zac Linzmeier
For the last 20 years, if you have been on this planet, then must have at least a primitive knowledge of household cleaners. Basically we keep these under our bathroom or kitchen sink. However, often we do not think that these are harmful to our household's health especially when it comes to the health of our kids and our pets. When these are sprayed in rooms, immediately they come into contact with our pets, kids and also any other members of our household. Our kitchen utensils may get a light spray on them which can be really bad for everyone's health. Our pets walk on the floor after it has been sprayed with a household cleaner, then they lick their paws and, thus, get affected. Similarly, when our babies and small children play around on the floors with their toys and then, as all small children do, put them in their mouths, our babies also become affected. So, now is the time that we need to begin to understand that those sprays are made almost purely of chemicals and nothing in their ingredients are natural. By using common household chemicals we are not only hurting ourselves and our families but we are exposing our pets, which often are far more susceptible, to these toxins.

Remember, that all chemical goods are poisonous to pets and children and that each and every product that is sprayed in the air eventually accumulate on the floors, what goes up must come down.

Before all these chemical cleaners came to the market, housewives used to make their own home remedies to clean up the house which actually kept everybody a lot safer then they are now. After a while, however, these poisonous chemicals came to the market with their high price tags and harmful side effects. Just think how foolish it is to bring such poisonous things into your household while burning up extra cash at the same time.

So, while buying household cleaners you should observe the labels and see whether words like 'natural', 'organic', 'eco friendly', 'non-toxic' or 'environment friendly' is written on it. If it is written on them then chances are the cleaner is a plant based or soap based cleaner which doesn't contain any poisonous substance. These kinds of products are usually available at health stores, natural stores and with growing demand in some chain stores. Now a days as people try to become green, that is why these natural procucts are in such high demand. If you see that any grocery stores are not storing these products then you must insist on them doing so.

Remember it is essential to the healthy of your entire family, as well as your pets, that you stop covering your home in a layer of toxins. Take the natural route and keep everyone safe and healthy.
