Maybe you can't go out because the weather is rainy or too cold. But that doesn't mean you can't get some exercise while you're inside.
Depending on your family's interests and moods, you can usually locate a shopping mall or an arcade, indoor miniature golf or a bowling alley nearby. If you're looking for exercise, check out the local ice arenas, indoor tennis or racquetball facilities.

Parents and caregivers aren't the only adults willing to read to your kids. If there is a children's book to sell, to borrow, or to cross-market, then there is a storytime near you. Storytimes are almost always free and are geared for specific ages. Stories are often available in languages other than English, and some are signed. Brrr! It's a cold day and you're all bundled up, looking for some fun.
Warm up fast and get those muscles moving by shoveling the snow off the driveway or the sidewalk. You might even offer to shovel the driveways or sidewalks for people in your neighborhood. Make some giant snow people or other snow creatures. Build an igloo or a fort, and store all your snowballs there.
