How to Keep a Man Interested Once You Date Him

Tom Servo

A lot of women may find that it's easy to get a man interested in them, but once they are dating, keeping him interested is a whole other challenge. If a relationship starts to move too quickly, or in the wrong direction even the slightest bit, a lot of men will jump ship.

Step 1

Show him you are an independent woman. Live your own life and plan your own activities. Don't just sit around waiting for him to call you. Men like women that are independent. If you are too clingy in the beginning it will indicate to the man that you require too much attention.

Step 2

Call him only when you want to make plans or have something important to say. Calling him too many times throughout the day will begin to annoy him.

Step 3

Slowly open yourself up to him. Men withhold their emotions. They need to time to let their emotions develop. If you open up to him too quickly and divulge too many of your own emotions, you will scare him off. Wait until you have been seeing each other for a couple of weeks before you start sharing more intimate details with. Every few weeks open up a little more.

Step 4

Show him you aren't the jealous type. If another girl is talking to him in front of you, just stay cool. If he sees you get jealous, he will think you are too possessive and feel trapped.

Step 5

Critique him in a tactful and considerate way. Don't nag him. Men hate to be nagged. If he is doing something you don't like, tell him what you would like him to do and explain why. Don't just tell him to stop.

Tips
  • Men like a little bit of a chase. Let him pursue you a little bit. Don't make yourself too available at first.
Warnings
  • Do not hold back too much. Let him know you are interested in him, but just don't be over the top about it.
