It is my goal that by the time you are finished reading this article, your eyes will be a little more opened to danger possibilities and watch out for your pet a little more. No one wants a broken heart and hurt pet. Let's face it, we all become attached to our pets. They are normally with us for several years and become part of our family. They are our furry friends.
Advice tip 1:
White trick-or-treaters are out and about, it is best to keep your pet locked in a back room or closed garage. This will prevent any chance of possible escape. This will also prevent your pet from scratching or biting a trick-or-treater. Keeping your pet locked up and indoors will also ensure they are not picked up by some little kid and taken home with them.
Advice tip 2:
With all the chocolates and sweets in your house at this time, it is best to point all the candy in a bowl and place it up high with a secure lid. This will ensure that no nosy little dogs or cats will let their curiosity get the best of them and eat something they should not.
Putting a lid on the bowl will help block out the smells of the sweet stuff. And placing the bowl high will keep little paws out of it. All-in-all preventing your pet from becoming ill from an over generous sweet tooth they may have.
Advice tip 3:
It is not a good idea to dress your pet in a costume unless you know they will not mind and do not go tearing at the material. You do not want them to eat the material or anything else that is on the costume because it will make them very sick. Also avoid covering their eyes with anything because this will make very nervous and they could end up biting someone.
Advice tip 4:
You may be handing out small toys to children this year instead of candy, but that does not mean your pets are safer without the candy. Both dogs and cats love small toys; especially ones that make noise. Keep these toys up high and avoid the risk of one of your pets eating one. The last thing you want is you pet choking.
Advice tip 5:
With all the decorations you will have up, you will really need to watch your dogs and cats. Fake spider webs can tangle your pets up and cause them to suffocate. Chemicals in things such as fake blood can be fatal to you hairballs if they drink it. Little plastic spiders can be eaten and clog the intestines, cut the inner throat, and cause suffocation.
These are all things you should take into consideration while the Halloween season is about us. Enjoy your Halloween and have fun, but make sure your pet is safe as well. Have a Happy Halloween!

Post a CommentOur dog used to be terrified on Halloween, as he wasn't crazy about new people and there were something howling noises and other strange sounds of the evening - fun for kids, not so fun for some animals. Thanks for writing this.
