How Can I Know I Am Saved?

Forget What Non-Christian Groups or Some so Called Christian Groups Say; The Bible Says It's Possible

Mike White
Is it possible for a lowly human being to know he is saved? Can a man or woman possibly ever know his sins are forgiven? How does one know God will not judge him for the wrong things he has done in his life? Does any person really know he has a home in heaven, will live with God forever? If you want to know the answer, you need to accept what the Bible says and ignore what non-Christian groups teach, as well as so-called Christian groups who do not get their final answer from the Bible.

If you listen to many, the answer is no. According to the article, Do Muslims Believe in Original Sin, by Christine Benlafquih, Muslims believe that all are born naturally pure and sin free. Obviously one who believes that must not believe a Savior is necessary. On the Jehovah's Witness official site, watchtower.org, the question of how one can be saved is asked. The problem is a final answer is never given. The site says a lot about believing in Jesus and His death on the cross and following Him both being necessary for salvation. It even quotes from the Bible about faith and works and faith in Jesus. The problem is the article never gives a definite answer of how one can know his sins are forgiven. How can an article like that help anybody? There is never a definitive answer given of how to be saved.

The problem is with any other non-Christian group and so many so-called Christian groups are just like these two groups of people. They don't believe it is possible to know your sins are forgiven. They believe if you do this or that, maybe you might saved, but that nobody really knows. Some so-called Christian groups believe if you are baptized in their church you will be saved, if you confess your sins to a man and ask him to pray to God for you, do enough good works, or if you tell enough people about your faith you might be saved.

Is it possible to know you are saved? Before answering that one must ask you a question. Do you believe the Bible is the Word of God? If you deny that, nobody can help you. I could try to prove the truth of the Bible to you, but I won't. There are plenty of others who do that. If you do believe the Bible is the Word of God, there is hope for you; if not, you are in my prayers. The Bible does teach it is possible to know your sins are forgiven, but you can only believe that if you accept the Bible for what it says it is: the living Word of God.

First of all the Bible teaches in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Romans 6:23 teaches that the wages (or payment, like a wage when you work at a job) is death (physical and eternal punishment), but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. If you do believe the Bible is the Word of God, you need to acknowledge that you are a lost sinner, if you haven't trusted Jesus as your Savior and that he died on the cross to pay for your sins.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life," the Bible says in John 3:16. Do you believe the Bible? If so, then Jesus Christ was God's Son, and he did die on the cross for your sins so you can have everlasting life and not perish.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8 teach that not only did Jesus die on the cross, but he was buried, and rose again. He was seen of many witnesses. Romans: 10:9-10, 13, teach that if we confess with our mouth Jesus as our own Lord and Savior and call upon Him we will be saved. Are you ready to ask God to save you? He will! He will give us a new heart and a new way of life, living for him. We are saved purely by faith--the faith He gives.

If you want to be saved, do what the Bible says. Ignore what man says. God is the one who sets the rules.

Great job and points here, Mike. Re: born sin free...I never heard a mother yet who had to tell her child, YES Johnny, throw that vase on the floor and break it! Kids are born needing to be told "NO don't do that!"

Amen Mike. So true. A sad fact is that 42% of Christians think that their works have something to do with their salvation's security. Sad indeed. Despite the fact that holiness is not the way to Jesus, Jesus is the way to holiness. I love John 6:37 & John 10:28-29 for assurance. God bless.
