How to Make an "L" Shaped Desk Out of Two Desks

Chelsea Hoffman

Limited office space can make it difficult for two people to make use of the area with separate desks; however, this is easily remedied by connecting the desks in an "L" shape against a wall. Combining two desks into one gives you the opportunity to make use of the existing office space while creating a pleasing geometric pattern with your furniture. Moreover, making two desks into one L-shaped desk doesn't inhibit your ability to function at your workstation either, whether one or two people are using it.

Step 1

Slide plastic moving discs under the feet of both desks. These discs are available in department and hardware stores, and make it possible for one person to move heavy items by sliding them along the floor.

Step 2

Slide one of the desks against the wall where you want it to go. The desk needs to face the wall with the sitting area pointed away from the wall in a horizontal position.

Step 3

Push the other desk near the first one, turning it vertically. Turn the desk so that it is facing toward the left, beside the horizontally-placed desk.

Step 4

Push the second desk against the side of the first desk. This connects the right end of the desk to the right end of the other desk. With the second desk in a vertical position, this creates an "L" shape out of the two desks.
