How to Land a Job During Bad Economic Times

Landing A Job In Economic Turmoil - Some of basics have remained the same but a key factor is the fact there are many applicants to choose from, meaning you really need to shine. First impressions are vital , and your resume is the first thing they are going to see in most cases. I custom design my resume for each submission to maximize my exposure to the areas most important to the position for witch I am applying for. It has got to catch there eye right away and be generally short and sweet. Just provide the information that qualifies you and your attributes, leave out the things that just make your resume wordy. Try to remember they have many resumes to review and you need to answer one important question early in the reading, how will you be an asset to the company? Your main objective is to generate enough interest to get an interview. Your resume should be the best you can make it, give it all you got and look at it from the employers point of view.

If you get the interview, make sure to look your very best. This says a lot about you and how you handle things. I would wear a suit to a interview for factory work if it gave me even the slightest advantage. It may be the factor that gets you the job over someone with equal qualifications. Treat every interview like it is the most important job of your life, actually it is if you think about it. The resume and your appearance are the easy ones to score points on so make sure you get those points.

Be at least 15 minuets early if not a little more, not only will it look good, but it gives you a chance to calm your nerves and gather your thoughts. Think highly of yourself and your potential worth to the company. Do not ever discount yourself or your qualifications. This is vital to succeed. If you want someone to believe in you, be confident in your self worth. Remember to smile and maintain eye contact. Ask questions when they ask if you have any questions, try to think ahead and have a few good ones not ordinarily asked. You need all the points you can get to make you stand out and be remembered.

Do not blurt out negative information about yourself. I would answer the question and if it has a negative spin, such as have you ever been in trouble with the law, be honest and include positive factors like all the ways you have changed for the good since then. Remember honest but positive. Be ready for questions that can negatively affect your interview When they say something negative such as the pay only starts out at this much, be positive and say something like , I understand we all have to start out somewhere and I am looking forward to working with you. Yes, past midway in the interview let them know you want to work with them and assume you got it.. You have nothing to lose and the confidence looks great to potential employers. A good resume, great appearance, honesty and a positive attitude can better your chances of getting that job now or at any time. Really, everything is the same you just have to outshine the competition
