I love my wife; this has been my mantra since the day we married. I love my wife I keep saying it repeatedly. Why, you may ask? Not for the obvious reasons, I do love how she has made my daughters and me a priority in her life, and that she makes married to her interesting every day. However, my demonstration of love to my charming wife is the recent purchase of a laptop we made for her. Back in the summer of 2008, my wife found that between work and home a laptop would make her life a little bit easier. As a devoted husband, it is my duty to try to make her life easier. By doing so usually makes my life easier as well.
After spending some time on the Dell laptop website and looking over the Outlet Section, I came across a laptop that just begged me to take a closer look. Did it have the RAM memory I need? Three GB's should be plenty for a laptop. Did it have enough hard disk space? 250 GB's was more than enough room for a laptop. What about the processor speed? Intel Duo Core 2, 2.00 GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache , not the fastest, but fast enough for a laptop. It had a webcam; she will be able to do some face time with our daughter while she is off to college. It had an internal Wi-Fi card because why bother having a laptop if you cannot use it anywhere in the house or when we travel. The operating system was Vista and that was the best that Microsoft offered at the time.
Everything I was looking for in our next best laptop seemed to be there, and the price was great for what Dell was offering. She was finally going to have the best laptop she had ever owned, that is until I looked a little closer at the description.
There it was flamingo pink. Not just any pink mind you, flamingo pink. Why is it that they put the color at the bottom of the list of options on a laptop computer? I live in California not Florida, flamingos live in zoos where I live. They could have called it bubble gum pink or salmon, flamingo pink makes me think of Miami. It does not make me think of the best laptop my wife would ever own.
Again, I love my wife. My mantra kept running through my head like a broken record. A flamingo pink laptop with all the great features this one had would have her endeared to me for a long time. As it ended up the flamingo pink laptop really did end up being not only the best laptop she ever owned, it ended up being the best computer she and I ever owned. This laptop has traveled with us all over the United States without having any issues. My wife loves to use the webcam and talk with our college-aged daughter who lives on campus. In the three years, we have never had our flamingo pink Dell in for repairs.
Therefore, as you read my future written words, rest assured that many of them will continue to be written on that greatest laptop my wife has ever owned. Now, where did I store that pink polo shirt I had back in the 1980's again?

Post a CommentGreat article on the virtues of Dells, Mike. I wrote an article on how much I love my Mac, but I'll tell you what, I also have a Dell laptop that has treated me well. This was a cute story. I'm sure that your wife appreciates the pink color, too.
